Mary King, five time Olympian, opened our client, Nottingham Trent University’s new Equestrian Centre at Brackenhurst, named in her honour. Not only did we film Mary pulling the statutory red curtains to reveal the plaque, but her lecture demonstration too. She showed an audience of 450 how to train event horses, from novice to advanced. May 2nd, 2012London Elects, the folk in charge of managing the London Mayoral and Assembly elections, asked VPoint.TV to help them out with a couple of projects. As specialists in sign language and subtitled productions, they asked us to create an information video for deaf voters on the voting process. We also produced a digital Video News Release (broadcast HD) for all the News Networks showing the printing of 6 million voting forms!

Asked to Show at Film Festival
April 12th, 2012We were very flattered to be asked, completely out of the blue, to show one of our projects at the Academia Film Olomouc – a prestigious scientific documentary film festival held annually in the Czech Republic. Now in its 47th year, the festival has broad international appeal and has hosted guests like Lord Robert Winston.
The project was NanoWhat? a series of short films we made for the University of Nottingham (on behalf of all the Universities of the East Midlands) way back in 2008. Our lively and creative take on a scientific subject has had quite an impact, as it’s already won a Royal Television Society Award!

September 19th, 2011Over 225 people auditioned to be in the Victoria Centre Christmas TV commercial. What a lot of local acting talent there is! Working with our good friends at Nottingham agency Three Rooms, we were a collective tour de force when it came to encouraging shoppers in front of the camera and making them look fantastic! The judging team from the Vic Centre will have their work cut out deciding the 10 winners! Where’s Simon Cowell when you need him?

We’ve had a busy old summer – we’ve just filmed an introduction to our Lung Cancer Screening film with Lynn Faulds Wood; we’re just about to launch an amusing viral about nasal sprays (yes, nasal sprays) for 3M Healthcare (check it out at www.facebook.com/nodrip); just finishing off another film for ACAS; but phew .. we had a chance to relax for a couple of days whilst filming for The Grantham Canal Society because, as everybody knows, there’s nothing like messing about on the river (er, canal!)

The talented folk of Nottingham have a chance to star in the ad … all you need to do is turn up at the Centre and give it a go! You won’t miss us, we’ll be outside Top Shop shouting ‘action’ with cameras and lights! It’s a whole new style of local advertising. And if you can’t make it, keep your eyes out for the commercial in the run up to Christmas.
